This autobiography of Andrew Carnegie is a very well written and interesting history of one of the most wealthy men in the United states. He was born in Scotland in 1835 and emigrated to America in 1848. Among his many accomplishments and philanthropic works, he was an author, having written, besides this autobiography, Triumphant Democracy (1886; rev. ed. 1893), The Gospel of Wealth, a collection of essays (1900), The Empire of Business (1902), and Problems of To-day (1908)]. The little girl cried over this contemptuous treatment of her 'child.'Young Lawyer Lincoln, seeing it all, sprang in and quickly picked up the fallen doll. Brushing off the dust with his great awkward hand he said, soothingly, to the wounded little mother-heart:'There now, little Black Eyes, don't cry. Your baby's alive. See, she isn't hurt a bit!'That tall young man never looked uncouth to her after that. It was this same old lady who told the writer that Lawyer Lincoln wore a new suit of clothes for the first time on the very day that he performed the oft-described feat of rescuing a helpless hog from a great deep hole in the road, and plastered his new clothes with mud to the great merriment of his legal friends. Namun berbeda dengan yang lainnya, Ia tidak menggunakan beasiswa dari Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan untuk melanjutkan kuliahnya di Jerman melainkan dengan menggunakan biaya sendiri dari ibunya yaitu R.A. Tuti Marini Puspowardojo. Mengingat pesan Bung Karno tentang pentingnya penguasaan Teknologi yang berwawasan nasional yaitu teknologi maritim dan teknologi dirgantara dikala Indonesia waktu itu masih berkembang akhirnya BJ Habibie diberi kesempatan belajar di Jerman.Pada waktu itu pemerintah Indonesia dibawah Soekarno gencar membiayai ratusan siswa cerdas Indonesia untuk mengemban pendidikan di luar negeri dan menimba ilmu disana. Habibie merupakan rombongan kedua diantara ratusan pelajar SMA yang secara khusus dikirim ke berbagai negara. Kemudian Habibie memilih jurusan Teknik Penerbangan dengan spesialisasi Konstruksi pesawat terbang di Rhein Westfalen Aachen Technische Hochschule. Pendidikan yang ditempuh BJ Habibie diluar negeri bukan pendidikan kursus kilat akan tetapi merupakan sekolah bertahun tahun sambil kerja praktek.
